Precious Miss Aubrey is one of our Little Blessings babies, and it has been a joy getting to know her this year! Because I know that we’re getting close to her birthday, I figured it was time to blog some images from her 8 month session.
So here is the beautiful Aubrey. I just love her sunny personality and those gorgeous eyes!

June 28, 2008Announcing: Our New "Masterpiece Collection"
June 27, 2008As many of you know, for awhile now I have been talking about adding some new portrait styles to the studio reprotoire. While I love the style of portraits I create for babies, I am always thinking of new ideas that will challenge me as both a photographer and as an artist. For this our latest series, I am drawing on inspiration from the Old Masters — not those of photography
but those of the masterpiece, painted portraits that have stood the test of time.
I am proud to announce our newest line of children’s portraits: The Masterpiece Collection. These special heirloom portrait styles and themes will be available for a limited time only, and we will provide the hair styling and wardrobe for the girls. For boys, I recommend slightly dressier and more classic clothing than what we usually recommend for a portrait session — darker, more tailored clothing in creams and coppers and browns will work the best. Our first set is called “Golden Child” because the portraits are bathed in warm coppery gold light. This series is designed for babies who can sit to children up into the pre-teen years, and would be perfect for a special collection of portraits for siblings or with mom. The hand-signed art pieces from this series are sure to become family heirlooms that will be treasured for generations to come.
If you are interested in our Masterpiece Collection, please give me a call at 830-214-7125 or send me an email at info@shelbylane.net for a consultation. This set will only be available through the month of July, and we are accepting limited appointments. A special thanks to this year’s models, the beautiful Miss Madeleine and the always adorable Charlotte.
Brand New: Dylan
June 27, 2008Meet one of our more recent newborns: Mister Dylan. He is such a cute baby who already has so much personality! I always feel a little guilty about getting “crying shots” because I feel like when they get to that point, we are torturing them. But the crying shots are always so adorable… and as you can see, he was calm and relaxed for the rest of the session!
Brand New: Caden
June 27, 2008New Phone Number!
June 26, 2008We have been having some issues with the studio phone service, and to make a long story short, the local studio phone number is changing! I am not sure when the final switchover will take place, but if you have trouble getting through, please try the new number
830-214-7125
The San Antonio (210)745-0142 number should still work, no matter what, but we might have some downtime today and tomorrow during the switchover.
Thanks!
Sydney
June 12, 2008Here is Miss Sydney, who is about 18 months old. She is so much fun and so expressive! She really liked our bubbles, and the teddy bear, and the cowgirl hat. Sydney, it was great getting to know you! Come back any time.
PS: I love it when we can get a shot where a mom or grandma will say, “We have a portrait of me at that age that looks sooooo similar!” I have some of Charlotte that look like they could be me at that age, and my mom has portraits of me that look like HER at the same age. It’s just so neat to see those expressions or mannerisms that we have in common through the generations.
Elle
June 9, 2008This precious baby has been waiting a LONG time for her blog feature! I’m sorry Elle!
I think she was getting a tooth when she was in with us, but she brought her best stuffed friend so that made it a little better. I always love how girly your girls are, Beth! It makes our sessions so much fun. So here is Beautiful Elle at 7 months.
Natalie Rose
June 9, 2008Such a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. I love having older kids in the studio, because it seems that once they are in school, people stop having their portraits made — and really, this is such a fun time! Some of my all time favorite portrait sessions were with my school age clients. Natalie Rose came in with her parents for a family session, and we also took some portraits of her alone. I had many favorites but had to choose one as the MOST most favorite. Thanks for coming in, Natalie Rose!
Bella
June 9, 2008Here are just a few of Bella, who was in not TOO too long ago for her 10ish month session. She is an amazing crawler! I just love her gorgeous and infectious smile. How can you not smile with joy when you see that face? I also love how she showed us that she was done for the day: that tongue is just too funny!
See you later this month, Bella!
Yes, I am blogging…
June 9, 2008… but as it is Monday, the studio is still closed.
We are stuck at home today waiting on some delivery guys, so I am using this time to try and get caught up on the blog — both with featured sessions and with making sure y'all have the most up to date news.
If you have emailed me in the past few weeks, I have replied! I have had so many emails that I have not gotten a response to, I am starting to get paranoid that maybe we are having email issues.
We are still booking for the Fresh Faces sessions. I am trying to get them photographed by the end of this week, and I have heard from some of you already. I am really excited about these two new sets/portrait lines and so I just want to publicly say THANK YOU to those who are going to come in and be models for the day.
I also have a very important email newsletter going out today about a new referral program we're launching, so be sure to check your mail box. I think that because of our old server issues, we've ended up on a bad "spam" list so if you are not hearing from me by email, be sure to check your spam boxes and mark me as okay.
And last but not least, we still have some appointments left for both the Secret Garden sessions and the Beach Portraits. We're heading to the beach in a little less than two weeks and so this might be just the right time for a last minute family vacation, while also having a unique opportunity to get that family portrait you've been putting off.
