Cade

October 27, 2006

Still swamped with holiday sessions — which is great! But I have had trouble keeping up with updates. Here is Cade. He’s a cutie. His sister Morgan came in for her first year, and now Cade has come in for his first session, too. He’s 3 months old and sweet as can be.

Pumpkin Patch

October 18, 2006

Our annual pumpkin patch sessions were a big hit again this year! Thanks to everyone who came in on Friday and Saturday. We had so much fun seeing all the kids in their fall clothes and costumes. Here are some of my favorite images from the weekend.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, you’re looking at Chicken Little, a fairy princess, and Little Red Riding hood. Everyone looked great and did a great job in front of the camera!

Okay, so far this week has been crazy, and tomorrow is our annual Pumpkin Patch event. So, just in case I don’t get a chance to update the blog this weekend, I thought I’d share just a couple of images of this sweet 2 month old. Enjoy!

Imaginary Friends

October 11, 2006

That is what we have always called each other, Kati and me. I have known Kati, Catherine, Sarah, Dana, Heather, Lori, Ashley, and Mia for years… but only online. So, a few weeks ago, Kati and her family came to Texas for a visit, and stopped by the studio to play with us for awhile. They are an amazing family. I feel so blessed to have known you, Kati, and I’m glad we finally got to meet.

Here are some images from our session, and of the kids playing. Autumn calls McCurdy “Friendsie”. I think that’s just so cute. She says, yes, I know what his name is. But I like to call him Friendsie. She is so smart and has a great imagination. She got McCurdy to marry her, and then they danced. Charlotte was not happy with that — she was the flower girl and wasn’t sure if that was an important enough job for a big girl.

As you can see, the top hat has been a very popular accessory for the girls lately.

Some snapshots of the kids together. They really loved each other and acted as if they had known each other forever. Which is funny, because even though this was the first time we had met in person, Kati and I are kind of the same way.
Vaughn, buddy, I don’t mean to leave you out. I just haven’t finished developing the session yet. There really are some portraits of you! I promise!

Rosey

October 9, 2006

This sweet baby is really named Zara, but I think maybe her nickname should be Rosey. She has the softest pink cheeks and the most beautiful porcelain skin. And she’s a fun and silly little rose of a girl. This is her second session with us, and now that she’s six months old you can really see her sweet personality coming out. I love how she points her toes like a little ballerina — she did that for us at her newborn session, too.

And, of course, it was with my own kids. This is a little stretch of wall between two windows on the north end of the building. Charlotte was kind enough to play dress up and let me photograph her for a few minutes before running off to play again. I can see some things I’d like to change about these (for one, the color looks way funky once these are posted on the blog). But, I wanted to share them with y’all anyway, so you can see how big and silly Bugs has gotten and a little bit of the inside of the new studio.

And, cause I know some of you will ask, yes: the skirt, boa, and hat are all from the studio wardrobe. I am in love with these petticoat tutus.

Okay. So I understand that a blog isn’t really a blog unless you update it frequently. But I have a good excuse. I promise.

In between shooting baby and family sessions, since the holiday season has hit in full force for me (thank you all!), I’ve been moving into the new studio. And I’m happy to report that we’re almost completely moved in. I started shooting there on September 30th and I have loved every minute. It couldn’t be more perfect for the style of work I do, and I love that it’s in the Grassmarket, so I can pop over to Huisache for lunch. We have the whole second floor, the natural light up there is gorgeous, and the best part: there’s an elevator. :)

I can’t wait for you all to come and visit! I’m planning a grand opening party for sometime in late November or early December, so be ready to mark your calendars. I’ll let y’all know as soon as I’ve finalized some dates.

I am still getting organized, but as soon as I have things up on the walls I’ll post some images of the inside, too. Y’all are going to love this place.
